You get tired of the cost overruns, the promises, aging equipment forced to soldier on war after war, while more extravagant and ever fewer weapons get all the funding. We are impoverished in an age of wealth and splendor.

O.K., a very understandable feeling, one I have far to often myself…
So what’s the solution? Heck, what is the direction to the solution?
I’m only speaking from something I know only a little bit about but weren’t these sorts of complaints endemic with the F-4, the F-15, and the F-14?
Didn’t each of these platforms turn out to be real jewels (obviously NOT problem free jewels) over the lifetime of these particular platforms?
So we see massive and expensive problems with the F-22 & F-35 and wonder if we the people are being milked…
What is a useful alternative?

I think someone ought to be saying the same thing about LCS.
