Note also that firepower is concentrated in a few ships, with many of our warships tied to defending the carriers, the latter expected to project power at sea and on land.

If this power was less concentrated, we’d have less talk of gaps and presence deficits. Unleash the TLAM ships, and also give us many more small “cruisers”!

The USN is the only “global” navy at this point.
The USN surpasses the firepower of the next 13 navies combined.

If this weapon is being marketed to anyone OTHER than the USN, it makes perfect sense to portray it as effective against the premire navy in the world … the USN.

    QED.

    DesScorp,

I agree with on that observation. I made the same observation in an earlier thread regarding the Club-K system and its promotional video. I think that what we are seeing with this current video is about the third version that they’ve offered up for various viewers’ consumption.

BTW – the conflict in the video seems to best fit a war between Venezuela and Colombia, taken from a north polar perspective. The red country would be Venezuela, while the blue country would be Colombia (with US assistance, of course). Although clearly fictionalized for the purposes of the promotional video, the general scenario seems best to fit with a conflict between those two regional adversaries.

Looks to me like the Russians are doing some pretty brazen marketing here. Looks like they’re openly marketing this at America’s enemies; all of the forces being destroyed in the video are American.

Lucky for us, the Club has trouble hitting the continent it’s aimed at.

    Mike,

“This video has been removed by the user.”

Perhaps someone made a connection between the ‘K’ of “Club-K” and what might be an interpretation of its meaning – club kill…
